“It appears that Timothy’s unrelenting creative approach only serves to further fuel his passion to create intriguing and beguiling electronica music”
Waves of sonic calmness and soulful interludes beat through “Ready For The End” the new single from Timothy And The Apocalypse, and his third collaboration with LA-based singer-songwriter 9 Theory. It’s another celestial journey from the Sydney chameleon as this time he delves indulgently into ambient production.
“Ready For The End” with its eclectic sound reminds us of the experimental concepts that Radiohead undertook with In Rainbows (2008) and The King of Limbs (2011) with jazzy undertones that reverberate with a restrained production. The use of a breakbeat rhythm and the addition of flourishes of samples creates a lightly textured track that is subtle in the amount of production Timothy has utilised. A soothing guitar riff and an airy vocal create balance with the trip-hop rhythm culminating in a peaceful downtempo vibe. So from a technical view point there are many gleaming gems to unpack from “Ready For The End”. It appears that Timothy’s unrelenting creative approach only serves to further fuel his passion to create intriguing and beguiling electronica music.
“Timothy excels in creating journey music, and that feeling of escapism continues with this track”
With all that said “Ready For The End” skips lightly and is a lusciously pleasing song. Put this track on when you want to let the stresses of the day dissipate and you’ll forget all your worries in no time. Timothy excels in creating journey music, and that feeling of escapism continues with this track.
Timothy And The Apocalypse produces music that doesn’t adhere to one lane of music genre. Instead, the artist is intent to mix and discover new elements to deliver music that is always surprising. It’s like we get to discover a new side of Timothy And The Apocalypse with each new release. And with “Ready For The End” Timothy takes us on an introspective journey. Rather than being ready for the end, this new single sounds like we are just beginning a new adventure.
