TIMOTHY AND THE APOCALYPSE

Timothy and the Apocalypse is the electronic music project of Australian photographer, composer and producer Timothy Poulton.

Blending cinematic electronica, melodic electronic music, downtempo and ambient textures, Poulton creates music shaped by atmosphere, landscape and the places he encounters through his work as a photographer.

The project began in 2021 with the debut album Future So Bright, establishing a cinematic sound that would continue to evolve across a growing catalogue of albums and singles. Early releases attracted support from electronic and downtempo listeners and appeared alongside artists including Four Tet, Bonobo, Tim Shiel and Emancipator.

Photography and music increasingly form part of the same creative process. Field recordings, environmental sounds and experiences gathered while travelling are often carried back into the studio, allowing a landscape to influence not only the visual work but the music itself.

That connection can be heard throughout Timothy and the Apocalypse, from atmospheric earlier releases to recent work including Sunlight, My Hearts Awaken, Ambush and the album What If You Could Fly.

Timothy Poulton also produces music through other projects including The Time Meddler, allowing different sides of his electronic work to develop independently while Timothy and the Apocalypse remains focused on cinematic, atmospheric and emotionally driven electronic music.
